Adventures in Hong Kong – Day 1 – Sunday, April 17, 2016
It was a really long flight to Hong Kong….24 hours door-to-door, more or less. After 6 or 7 hours, it all blends into a LONG trip. Colton did GREAT and so did my other boy, Clifford. We get to the hotel and fall asleep again. On Sunday we meet up with our friend, Rosemary Doyle, and begin the search for ANGRY BIRDS. We find a street market, walk around Central, eat noodles, take the STAR FERRY, make it back to the hotel and collapse again.
Colton could only bring three. These ANGRY BIRDS made the cut; Red Bird, Chuck, and Blue Bird. We hope to find their cousins and bring them home to Tennessee.
Nearing Seattle we look out the window and see an old volcano, Mount Ranier. Don’t worry, we are five miles away.
Our plane across the Pacific Ocean.
Upon our arrival at the airport in Hong Kong….along with baby-diaper-changers in the bathrooms are MINI TOILETS for the kids. PERFECT for my son’s “bathroom” humor.
A full afternoon of walking takes us toward the STAR FERRY and guess what is suspended above the roadway?
After taking the STAR FERRY across Victoria Harbor, this is a look back toward Hong Kong. The skyline has changed since I was last here, 21 years ago.
A new friend, Andrew, arrives from Jakarta, Indonesia. Five year old boys are the same all over the world, I now have proof. Andrew’s aunt, Nelsi, is marrying our friend, Lyman Doyle, later this week.
The search for ANGRY BIRD cousins.
A rough-cut collection of videos of our first day in Hong Kong searching for ANGRY BIRDS….coming soon.
Join us as we search Hong Kong for ANGRY BIRD cousins to bring back to Knoxville, TN,
